The quick answer is that all Registered Dietitians are nutritionists, but not all nutritionists are Registered Dietitians. Almost anyone can call themselves a nutritionist which makes it hard to discern those with extensive dietitian education from those who read a book or took at 2-day class.
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) is a nationally recognized credential that involves specific requirements including a bachelors degree in nutrition science, 1200+ hour supervised practice program (internship), and passed national registration exam in addition to continuing education requirements for re-licensure. In Missouri, you must also obtain a state licensure (LDN) to practice.

Food sensitivities are non-allergic (non-IgE), non-celiac inflammatory responses. When you consume a reactive food, your body releases mediators such as cytokines, leukotrienes, and prostaglandins that cause inflammation and pain. Even if you are eating the healthiest foods possible, those foods may be causing inflammation for YOUR body. It can be difficult to figure out which foods you are reactive to because the symptoms of a food sensitivity may not show up for hours or days and may be dose dependent. Managing these food sensitivities starts with the identification of trigger foods and food chemicals. Enter MRT testing.

MRT and LEAP would be an excellent choice if:
You know your health is worth investing in.
You’re ready to take the time to make BIG changes in your food choices and lifestyle in order to feel better and heal.
You believe that food can be used as medicine.
You are willing to cook and try new foods and recipes.
You’re ready to feel SO MUCH better!
This probably isn’t the best choice if:
You’re looking for that quick fix or would rather take medication to cover up the symptoms it’s causing.
You tend to give up easily. I can’t do all the work for you.
You’re unwilling to cook or learn how to cook.
You are unwilling to make changes for at least 2 weeks (including removing alcohol and chocolate).

The patented Mediator Release Test (MRT) is a blood test designed to identify sensitive foods and food-chemicals that cause an inflammatory response in your body. It is an accurate test with 94.5% sensitivity and 91.7% specificity. 170 foods and chemicals are tested.

LEAP stands for Lifestyle Eating and Performance. After receiving your MRT results, a LEAP customized elimination diet based on the results will be created for you. You will start with your least reactive foods and re-introduce other foods as you progress through the phases. Most patients experience a 50-80% reduction in symptoms in the first 2 weeks!

At this time, I do not accept insurance, but I do accept HSA and FSA, or I can write a super bill for medical nutrition therapy.
